Roger Wyn Jones

Roger is a leadership development coach, working with ten to fifteen emerging and established leaders at any one time. He also works as a facilitator of senior management group events where the focus is on the development of future leaders.

With emerging leaders his coaching work helps clients to understand the factors – both drivers and constraints -  that define the “edge” of what they will achieve in their current role and what they can do to extend this edge. With established leaders his coaching often relates to the edges that will define their greatest achievements at work. But it also extends to the wider issues of fulfilment outside work which often preoccupy successful leaders.

During 2007 Roger worked with five UK CEOs and Managing Partners across the private and public sector and helped a number of new Executives to prepare for progression to the Board. He also worked with a number of Partners in the professional services sector where his coaching is particularly valued. For the first twenty years of his own career Roger worked as a Management Consultant and he was a Consulting Partner for eight years at Coopers & Lybrand, PwC and IBM. During this time his major clients were Reuters, Philips, Barclays, MoD and DEFRA.

Recent coaching clients include leaders at McDonalds, ExxonMobil, KPMG, Crown Prosecution Service, Eversheds, Pearl, Morgan Stanley, Sony Ericsson and Hermes. Recent facilitation work includes leadership groups at RBS, Barclaycard, Deloitte, DWP and Pinsent Masons.

Roger’s latest learning continues a long association with Oxford where he originally graduated in Law. More recently he completed his Diploma in Coaching, with a Distinction, at the Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring and he is currently working part time as an Associate at Oxford’s Said Business School. He is qualified to use various psychometrics including EQi and MBTI and he is an accredited member of the Association for Coaching.

Roger lives in Gloucestershire and has twin teenage sons who occupy most of his weekends but in his own time he enjoys dinghy sailing.
