Nichola Batley

Nichola has 18 years experience in Human Resources, including 6 years in human resource consultancy. She has expertise in the design and delivery of large scale leadership and management development programmes with extensive experience in competency development, course design, facilitation, action centred learning and coaching. Nichola has delivered senior management leadership development days both in the UK and the USA. She has a strong background working with large organisations both in the public and private sectors. Prior to working with Future Considerations, Nichola was HRD Director at American Express. She was previously a senior consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she specialised in organisational learning and development. 

Her areas of expertise include:

  • Competency development – working with clients to define core competencies for recruitment, development and training purposes
  • Leadership/management course design – designing and delivering programmes typically of 6-9 months duration, using a blended learning approach
  • Facilitation – working with groups of managers to assist them in tackling business issues
  • Action centred learning – working with managers, usually as part of a development programme and supporting them in applying their learning to work issues 
  • Coaching – providing coaching and feedback on a one-to-one basis
  • Development and assessment centre – designing and implementing large and small scale development and assessment centres
  • Psychometric assessment – using psychometric tools in a variety of development and assessment scenarios

Nichola has significant experience of working in the public sector. She is currently delivering a major leadership development and change programme for the London Borough of Richmond. This is a 9-month programme which includes classroom training, action learning, project work, coaching and self/peer feedback. She delivered a similar programme for the Southport and Formby PCT in 2004. 

Nichola holds an MSc, Human Resource management, Anglia University.  She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a certified user of MBTI and OPQ.  She also holds a BA Honours, English and Art History, Manchester Metropolitan University.
